Kiana Kim Visit the Stern Show

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

Pete Rose was the featured guest on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM Satellite Radio Show this morning. Most of the talk was the usual… being banned from baseball and the Hall of Fame, gambling on baseball and in general, and how Pete is making a living these days. Of course, since he was on the Howard Stern Show, much focus was on his 29-year old wife and Playboy model Kiana Kim, who accompanied him in the studio.
Everyone is not familiar with Kiana, she was born in Seoul, Korea and moved out to the United States with her family when she was 5. She was raised in Los Angeles and went to school at Arizona State University. Soon after graduating, she worked for Korean Airlines as a flight attendant.
Kiana will be featured in the Playboy April edition in the feature “Sexy 100 of 2009.” To be honest, Kiana probably didn’t warrant an appearance to promote the spread by herself, but with Charlie Hustle accompanying her, it was a no-brainer appearance.

Cable TV's inspiration women flip the writing on gender roles

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

Aquick tally of the coolest series on TV right now, includes some pretty amazing female characters; Glenn Close's Gloria Allred-on-steroids lawyer Patty Hewes on FX's Damages; Holly Hunter's self-destructive detective Grace Hanadarko on TNT's Saving Grace; Mary McCormack's relationship-phobic witness protection marshal Mary Shannon on USA's In Plain Sight; Edie Falco's substance abuse huffing emergency room nurse Jackie Payton on Showtime's Nurse Jackie and Toni Collette's multiple personality-having suburban mom, Tara Gregson on Showtime's United States of Tara.

And most of them have one thing in common: They turn the concept of a typical female character on its head.
This is a thought which came while I was powering through preview DVDs of In Plain Sight, Nurse Jackie and United States of Tara. Showtime was nice enough to send critics a complete collection of each show's second season, though the episodes themselves only began to air last Monday, and USA gave out this week's debut episode of McCormack's show.

Beyonce Pregnant ?!!!

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

According to MediaTakeOut.com, they are. They cited a "rock solid source" gave them the news this morning and a baby is indeed on the way. It's worth noting that MediaTakeOut.com is the same publication that incorrectly reported Jay-Z and Beyonce getting married in Paris in 2007. Jay-Z and Beyonce tied the knot in April of 2008.
MediaTakeOut.com claims Beyonce is taking it easy, but will work through the pregnancy. They also stated Jay-Z is ecstatic about the news.
Rumors have spread about this before, so perhaps we'll just have to wait for official comment from Hov and Sasha Fierce. But if Beyonce’s not pregnant, we do know a new baby has just entered the Knowles family.
Beyonce’s parents split last year when news came out that her father, Matthew, was having an affair with actress Alexsandra Wright. Rumors were swirling that Matthew fathered a baby by Wright.
A paternity test has confirmed that Matthew is a brand new father at age 58.

Singer Johnny Maestro has died

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

Singer Johnny Maestro, who performed the 1958 doo-wop hit "16 Candles" with The Crests and enjoyed a decades-long career with The Brooklyn Bridge, has died of cancer. He was 70.
Les Cauchi, a friend and original Brooklyn Bridge member, said Maestro - born John Mastrangelo - died late Wednesday in Florida. His last residence was in Cape Coral, Fla.

After beginning his career in the 1950s with The Crests - one of the first interracial singing groups - Maestro joined a local New York group, The Del-Satins. It merged with a Long Island band, The Rhythm Method, to form Johnny Maestro and The Brooklyn Bridge in 1968.

Hits by the rock 'n' roll and doo-wop group included "The Worst That Could Happen," which Cauchi said earned "gold record" status with a million sales.

Cauchi said the group performed that song on "The Ed Sullivan Show." Other hits included "Blessed is the Rain," ''Welcome Me Love" and "You'll Never Walk Alone."

Cauchi recalled that another well-known song, "Your Husband, My Wife," drew controversy when it was released in 1969 because it dealt with infidelity - a touchy topic during that era.

"Johnny was a class act. He was truly a gentleman," singer Dion DiMucci said on Facebook. "He sang 'You'll Never Walk Alone' like an angel. ... We thank you for the beautiful trip you took us on. Love and peace."
"Dion reached out to John over the last couple of months, when Johnny was sick, to encourage him and give him some spiritual guidance," Cauchi said. The band got its name after a manager declared it would be "harder to sell than the Brooklyn Bridge," Maestro once said. He performed at arenas, amphitheaters and casinos throughout the U.S. and Europe.
He's considered one of the premier vocalists in rock 'n' roll - and one of the nicest, most sincere perfectionists in music.Maybe now the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will recognize him.Of all the talent, Johnny was the smoothest," said Morrow, who worked with Maestro many times. He probably sounded more like his recordings live than any other performer. He always held true to the music and treated it with great respect.
Maestro's last performance was Jan. 17, when The Brooklyn Bridge was among groups appearing at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. It was billed as "The Ultimate Doo-Wop Party."

Andre Pitre: Todays hot search

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

Just a while ago, everyone is searching facts about Andre Pitre. I was surprised why are they searching for Andre Pitre? I really wonder why. I then gathered some facts about who the hell is Andre Pitre and why people are searching for his name.

So here are some facts that I’ve gathered. He’s a male, that’s why I said “his name” in the first paragraph. He’s an R&B singer from Beaumont, Texas, based on this Facebook Page.

Another fact about him is that he starred in a 2005 TV episode entitled Eve. He is also a Basketball player in a 2009 movie entitled “Not Easily Broken”. And this year, he is part of the cast in the movie entitled House Arrest as a Tow Truck Driver. These facts are gathered from IMdb.

Hmmmm. I think that’s it because he has no Wikipedia page yet. As of writing this post, he has 342 fans in Facebook, which is quite a few for a star I presume.

I don’t have any more information about Andrew Pitre. If you have more to share, please don’t hesitate to leave more details using the comment form below.

Star Jones’ representative says that she is doing well and recuperating quickly. Jones is happy and enjoying all the twitter comments, because they encourage her and strengthen her during this difficult time.
Star Jones is still giving her two cents on the passing of the Health Care Reform Bill. She feels that anyone who did not vote for the Health Care Reform Bill should be ashamed of themselves.
Jones is hoping to return back to television shortly after her recovery. Good luck Star Jones and may you be healed and up and chatting really soon!

Tiger Woods: Opens mouth in front of Media

Tiger Woods is ready is ready to talk about his "disgusting behavior."
Tiger Woods acknowledged “living a lie,” saying he alone was responsible for the sex scandal that caused his downfall and that no one in his inner circle was aware of his misdeeds. “It was all me. I’m the one who did it. I’m the one who acted the way I acted. No one knew what was going on when it was going on,” Woods told The Golf Channel in one of two interviews Sunday night. A second one was aired on ESPN. “I’m sure if more people would have known in my inner circle, they would have stopped it or tried to put a stop to it. But I kept it all to myself,” he said.
In a revealing interview with Kelly Tilghman of the Golf Channel, Woods says that he's spent 45 days in treatment and is ready to return to the game that made him famous."I hurt so many people by my own reckless attitude and behavior," said Woods.  "I tried to stop and I couldn't stop. It was horrific."
But he did admit being nervous about how he’ll be received when he returns to golf next month at the Masters.
Woods plans to end more than four months of seclusion and play at Augusta National, one of the most tightly controlled environments in golf.

All the viewers are crazy about Johnny Depp. And again Audiences are mad as hatters about Johnny Depp and Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”. Audiences make it possible to earn $41 million in its first day.

After its big start Friday, the Disney release could be on track for a $100 million weekend. Box-office tracker Hollywood.com says that would be a record for films opening in March.

The current best March debut is $70.9 million for “300” in 2007.

Director Burton reteamed with frequent collaboratorJohnny Depp, who plays the Mad Hatter in their new take on Lewis Carroll’s classic. The film also features Burton’s romantic partner, Helena Bonham Carter, along with Anne Hathaway, Crispin Glover and Mia Wasikowska as Alice.

Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi are going out

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

No celebrity can hide their special moments, at last the Bachelor stars Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi stepped out for dinner twice this week in Hollywood.
The somewhat the couple put on a united front - in front of the paparazzi at celebrity hot spots, natch - at Koi on Wednesday and The Palm on Tuesday.

Vienna Girardi and Jake Pavelka smiled and greeted photographers as they left Wednesday night, enjoying a nice dinner following their visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Asked to comment on his alleged ex's claims that he cheated on Vienna and discussed marriage with her, Pavelka shrugged his shoulders, shaking his head.

"Nah," he replied. Bold, Jake. Bold.

Although Pavelka's so-called ex has given interviews on the subject anonymously, reports suggest that the woman in question is 24-year-old Tanya Douglas.

She says Jake promised her he'd come back for her, and the women on The Bachelor meant nothing to him. He says they dated but there was no overlap.

If the rumors are hurting Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi, you wouldn't know it.

Walking hand-in-hand and sporting ear-to-ear grins on both occasions this week, the newly engaged duo certainly look like they may just go the distance.

This is The Bachelor.

Shilpa Shetty is going to leads the campaign to save BBC Asian Network

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

Indian Hot actress Shilpa Shetty is of the most recognized faces in Britain . Leading British Asian personalities have led over 100 prominent people in a campaign to save the BBC Asian Network, whose closure was announced earlier this week.

In a letter to the BBC Trust chairman, Sir Michael Lyons, Shetty, actor-writer Meera Syal and Olympic boxer Amir Khan have called for the radio station to be saved. Signatories include cricketer Vikram Solanki, film director Gurinder Chada, and Sir Mota Singh.
The letter published today in The Guardian, expresses the signatories' "profound shock" at the BBC's decision to shut the national station. It says that the eight-year-old digital broadcaster provides a "key platform" for the national Asian community "and offers creative British Asian talent an outlet which is demonstrably under-represented in the more mainstream BBC. This would all be tragically lost if these proposals are agreed."The decision to shut both the Asian Network and 6 Music were part of a strategy review announced by the BBC's director general, Mark Thompson. It said the Asian station's output was expensive in terms of cost per listener and its output was said to be "inconsistent".

The station, which broadcasts mainly in English but also has programmes in Hindi/Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujurati and Mirpuri, has also lost around 20 per cent of its listeners over the last three years, totalling an average of 360,000 listeners a week at the end of last year.

Erica Mongeon in Coma Following Car Accident

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

It was easy to laugh at Erica and Victoria Mongeon during their MTV reality show run. Better known as the Ikki Twins, these sisters starred as lesbians on the dating series A Double Shot at Love.
But this is no laughing matter: Erica is in a medically-induced coma after being injured in a major car accident yesterday.
The siblings were passengers in a Volkswagen Jetta that hit a tire in the road and was subsequently rear-ended by a truck when the driver attempted to pull over. The crash took place near Bakersfield, California."Right after the accident everybody was feeling OK, but Rikki had a bump on her head and nobody thought it was a big deal, but for just for the heck of it they went to the hospital," rep Rick Brown told E! News, explaining how things got worse from there:
"Then, the doctors did a test that said she had bleeding in her skull. She never felt bad, like you would expect, but they put her into a medically-induced coma and will keep her down until Friday. The plan is to bring her out of the coma on Friday and take it from there."
Neither Victoria nor the car's driver were seriously injured.
Brown has asked fans to pray for Erica, though she's expected to survive.

SRK back as Filmfare host

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

OSCAR of Bollywood the FILMFARE AWARD Given all that, this year’s event went a notch higher with two superstars playing host and all the others in attendance. Shah Rukh Khan, who had the audience laughing uproariously along with co-host Saif Ali Khan, was there with gorgeous wife Gauri. Kareena Kapoor was sorely missed as she was shooting for an ad. Despite an exhausting night co-hosting the 55th Idea Filmfare Awards with fellow co-star Saif, King Khan decided to squeeze in some tweeting before hitting the sack. Hrithik Roshan carried a kite for obvious reasons.
Commenting on the Bollywood beauties that made an appearance, SRK described Vidya Balan as 'ravishing', Deepika 'lovely' and Kat 'awesome' whilst he added that Bebo was missed.
Shah Rukh also handed out thanks to the script team (Kiran Kotria, Veerdas and others) the dancers and the backstage personnel who he admits made everything nice and slick.

Khan rounded of the tweeting session with a note for Shahid Kapoor who performed to Michael Jackson's This Is it who according to SRK, was a 'treat to watch dancing'.

After many denials, Lara Dutta chose the event to make her relationship official by attending with tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi. Vidya Balan made an individualistic fashion statement in a yellow and orange sari and rudraksh jewellery. The reclusive Tabu made a rare appearance and the statuesque Rekha was her resplendent self. Bipasha bonded with Sridevi and the two held hands like long lost sisters as did Kajol and Gauri.

While all the high voltage action was happening on and off the stage a dignified ceremony took place as veterans Shashi Kapoor and Khayyam were lauded with Lifetime Achievement Awards.

AR Rahman and Asha Bhosle reminisced about the lovely songs they have created together from Rangeela to Raavana. While this is just a sneak preview, catch the telecast of the electrifying event on March 7 on Sony TV at 8pm.

JIM CARREY DEBUTS HIS ADORABLE NEW GRANDSON — PICTURE!

Posted by Nafiz Tahmid

The Hollywood actor, JIM CARREY 47, became a first time grandpa when his daughter Jane, 22, gave birth to a 7lbs 11oz baby boy on Friday in Los Angeles.

FUNNYMAN Jim Carrey debuted his grandson over the weekend.

Jane — who fronts rock group The Jane Carrey Band — and her husband, Blood Money singer Alex ‘Nitro’ Santana, have named their new arrival Jackson Riley Santana.

Jim revealed his daughter was about to give birth on Twitter last week.

“Something beautiful is right around the corner,” he wrote Thursday.

And on Friday he posted, “Right around the corner!”

When Jane announced her happy news last July, Jim — who split from Jane’s mother, his first wife Melissa Womer, in 1995 — predicted his daughter would be a fantastic parent.

“Jane is going to be a great mom,” he said at the time.

The Yes Man actor’s long-term girlfriend Jenny McCarthy recently admitted she couldn’t wait to become a grandmother to Jane’s baby.

“I think I’m going to be the awesome grandma, the world’s best is what I say,” said Jenny, who has a seven-year-old son Evan from a previous relationship.
